Need help entering my giveaway?  You’ve come to the right place.

 

Let’s assume you have already read through one of my giveaway posts…shall we? 

 

If you have never seen or entered a blog giveaway before, click here.  Scroll down and click on one of my giveaways, take a second to look through it and then come back!

 

You read it?  Great. 

 

Somewhere in the post you will have seen something like what I have circled in red on this pic: 

 

 

 

 

 

 

See where it says MANDATORY ENTRY?  This is the one thing you HAVE TO DO if you want to enter the giveaway.  The EXTRA ENTRIES are just that…extra things you can do to earn more entries.

 

Got that?

 

You ‘enter’ the giveaway by leaving me comments telling me what you have done.  Make sure you leave a separate comment for each thing that you do….that way you’ll have more entries and a better shot at winning. 

 

You will notice that the comments are numbered.  When the giveaway is closed I use a random number generator to pick a number.  Whomever wrote that numbered comment…wins! 

 

The more comments you have, the more chances you have to win. 

 

 

 

HOW DO I LEAVE A COMMENT?

 

Well, take a look at the red circle on this pic:

 

 

 

 

 

Underneath the title of the post you will see a number followed by the word ‘Comments’. 

 

 Click on that and then you will see this:

 

 

 

 

Fill out your contact info (if you don’t have a website, don’t worry about it…leave that part blank), leave a comment in the box telling me what you did and then hit “Submit Comment”.  The cool thing about my blog is that it will remember you so you only have to fill out your contact info once. 

 

 

 

FAQ:

 

What should my comment include? 

 

Well, tell me what you did. 

 

If you follow ‘I am wicked cheap!’ on Twitter, then say:

 

 I follow ‘I am wicked cheap!’ on Twitter!

 

OR

 

If you like ’I am wicked cheap!’ on Facebook, then say: 

 

I like ‘I am wicked cheap!’ on Facebook 

 

 

 

 

What does it mean when it says “2 entries”? 

 

That means you will get 2 entries for performing that specific task…so leave me 2 comments telling me that you did it! 

 

It’s fine with me if the comments are exactly the same, I just ask that you number them:

 

I subscribed to the ‘I am wicked cheap!’ email   #1

 

I subscribed to the ‘I am wicked cheap!’ email    #2

 

 

 

What if I’m already doing one of the ‘entry things’?

 

That’s great…just tell me.

TIPS:

 
1. Set up accounts with the following, if you don’t have them already.  You will need them to get in those extra entries.

 

          * Facebook

          * Twitter

          * Google Friend Connect

 

2. Set up a separate email account for blog giveaways.  Most giveaways allow you to enter by subscribing to their emails, and while those emails are totally interesting {smile}, you don’t want them gunking up your main email account.  

 

2.  Make sure you check your email at least once a day for any ‘You Won’ emails.  Be sure to check your spam folder too.  If you win a giveaway, I will send you an email telling you so.  If I don’t hear back from you within 48 hours, I’ll choose another winner!  This is the case with most blog giveaways…not just mine.

 

DO NOT:

 

Try to avoid these common mistakes when you are entering a blog giveaway:

 

* DO NOT leave your comments on the ‘I am wicked cheap!’ Facebook page, or the Facebook page of whomever is sponsoring the giveaway you are entering. Each comment must be made on the giveaway post in order for it to be numbered and counted.

 

* DO NOT leave one comment telling me all the things you did (for example: “I like IAWC on Facebook, I follow IAWC on Twitter, I subscribe to the IAWC emails”).  If you do that you’re only getting one entry – if you place each of those in separate comments, you will get 3 entries. 

 

FINALLY:

 

At this point, you are probably thinking that blog giveaways are a big, confusing, time wasting, pain in the butt.  Don’t.think.that!  I have won some AWESOME prizes on blog giveaways, including a $300 water filtration system.  And once you get the hang of it, you’ll find that it only takes about 5 minutes to enter a giveaway.
